Many of the dust and wear problems in the paper industry are caused by poor quality slitting. Burcas has produced dramatic improvements in knife life, quality of cut and dust reduction by using the whole spectrum of available materials – Tungsten carbide, Ceramic, High Speed Steel and Powder Steels – and ensuring efficient cutting angles, surface finish and flatness. Our knives achieve longer life between regrinds which dramatically decreases down time in production.

Burcas Multi-Cut Plus Slitters are manufactured from CPM 10V, an American powdered steel with a unique alloy content and structure that combines superior wear resistance with excellent toughness.
Our Carbide Cut Bottom Knives are manufactured from harder (82 HRc) Carbide material than the slitter (63 HRc) and to extremely close tolerances. The end result is a mirror finish and razor sharp edge which reduce dust formation and provides very high wear resistance with excellent toughness.
Our Circular Milling Units contain Brazed Carbide inserts to provide the same excellent performance and dust protection as our bottom knife range. All units all feature replaceable tips and specially designed splitters for brilliant results
